The spokesperson of the Ministry of Agriculture of Cambodia, Ms. Im Rachana, revealed the policy of deploying agricultural officers in communes, with about 1,600 people in communes that are active in agriculture across 25 provincial capitals.

According to the spokesman, the deployment of agricultural experts is one of the key policies of the Royal Government of Cambodia, which will be announced soon by the new leadership of the  7th legislature.

In addition, there are four other policies that will be implemented simultaneously in order to contribute to helping farmers have a better life by participating in the provision of technical assistance, capital and by helping to find markets in advance so that hydropower or producers can meet the needs of both domestic and export markets, especially China.

According to the National Agricultural Development Policy 2022-2030, the National Agricultural Development Policy 2022-2023 provides a broad and sharp orientation to develop this sector for the relevant ministries and institutions of the Royal Government of Cambodia, development partners, and the private sector to jointly implement.

This policy sets out four main areas: 1) modernization and commercialization in the agricultural value chain; 2) public and private investment in agriculture; and 3) sustainable growth and increased resilience. To climate change; and 4) Institutional reform and cross-sectorial issues.
