The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries (MAFF) of Cambodia, is encouraging investors to invest in quality processing of agricultural products for domestic supply and export.

Dith Tina, Cambodian Minister of MAFF, made the point when addressing a meeting on August 14 in Phnom Penh on the Cambodia Agrifood Trade and Investment Forum of the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations.

He highlighted that Cambodia’s agricultural products, such as rice, cashew, rubber, and fisheries products, have potential but require greater investment in the processing stage to provide quality and added value for domestic supply and export.

The minister appreciated the Cambodia Agrifood Trade and Investment Forum’s efforts to promote agricultural development programmes.

He was optimistic that the programmes that engage relevant players from both the supply and demand sides would be beneficial for Cambodian farmers as well as Cambodia.
